Salmonella Dub

Touring : Production & Publicity

Formed nineteen years ago in Christchurch NZ, Salmonella Dub have rightfully been called the pioneers and originators of a unique Pacific style of Dub/Drum ‘n’Bass/ Reggae/Hip Hop and Groove based Rock. Acts such as Fat Freddy’s Drop, Scribe & P Money, Shapeshifter, Cornerstone Roots, Kora, King Kapisi as well as the new wave of Australian acts like Budspells, Rastawookie, King Tide, Red Eyes, and the likes, can all thank Salmonella Dub for paving the way to opening Australian ears to an alternative to a music scene that was largely house influenced dance music or straight guitar rock. Message from MAU

“The Perception of Truth and Beauty”

As the human species, how do we confront and transform our being? How do we create the condition to make emerge the birth of beauty and truth? How do we stand up with courage to invite it, acknowledge it, celebrate it, love it or forgive it? How do we make emerge beauty that does not lie and truth that is kind?

In the MAU Forum 2009 you will meet provocative and inspirational artists, thinkers, writers, activists, heads of government and communities from across the Pacific region and around the world, as we continue to facilitate new dialogue and meaningful exchange, engaging with significant issues that affect our lives. The MAUForum celebrates these different opinions, aesthetic expressions and ways of being.

It is our hope that the MAUForum provides an open space, bridging localities, identities and boundaries with performances, ceremonies, symposia, workshops, debates and celebrations that enable a diversity of visions about the past, present and future.

NZ / AU tour November 2008

This extensive Nationwide tour of the provinces was unique in many ways… fully independent & self funded the tour was extremely succesful & used the highest standard of production involving resources of audio, lighting & visual content designed & provided by ARTIVIST : make!

Rhombus tour & band Manager Koa Williams worked closely with ARTIVIST : Creative JoFF Rae to push the boundries of a tour production & created the highest quality product to tour in 2008… massive visuals were employed at every opportunity & a 20KW audio system was utilised to it’s full extent…

The band stole the show at some major festivals like AREA9 & the Martinborough Wine & Food Festival with crowds of over 8,000 wanting more of the unique Pacific sounds!  MORE! MORE! MORE!

Hed Kandi down under

short tour with Mark Doyle & Mike Van Loon of Hed Kandi UK & Holland.

The run started in Auckland for a plush Hed Kandi style private party built in the shell of an incomplete multi floor open plan penthouse apartment of a luxery hotel followed by a very exclusive gig in a waterfront penthouse club…

Melbourne was a wonderful night of style & glamour at our fav’ hotel in Australia – the Prince in St Kilda;

Sydney was off the hook with a massive venue in the city center at a place called the Art House.  Back at the hotel Marty wanting to “go to the roof” was considered not such a good idea (she was subsequently banned from the balcolny too) & strange rituals of the heated plate became legend!

Wellington for another private party set while Te Papa closes at the Icon Restaurant & then an all night session for the sake of it at a small club called Q;

chillin’ in Kinloch, Lake Taupo before heading home…
